About

Capricorn Reef is a series of islands off the western coast of Equestria, in the South Lunar Sea. Created thousands of years ago from a now extinct volcano, the small cluster of islands are home to a number of various creatures including Earth ponies, Unicorns, Pegasi, Sea Ponies, Griffins, Dragons, Kirin, Hippogriffs, and many many more races found in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, including a wide variety of hybrids.There are three islands of Capricorn Reef. The smallest and most northern island was converted into a naval base about 100 years ago when Princess Celestia declared that the inhabitants of the reef were Equestrian Civilians. The Navy keeps the borders protected and ensures that the Princesses’ laws are enforced.The middle island is the most densely populated of the three, filled with a plethora of businesses and residential homes. Within the last 50 or so years, Capricorn Reef has been recognized as an ideal tourist attraction, with the decent weather all year long and tropical aesthetic all while only an hour long ferry ride from the mainland. The east side of the island is heavily congested with hotels, shops and tourist attractions, while the northern beach is dedicated to residential and fishing. The southern beach is surrounded by a beautiful coral reef that inhabits a large variety of fauna that is only exclusive on the three islands.The largest and most southern island is known as The Basin, which was turned into a nature reservation for the fauna and flora that can only be found on the islands, such as the endangered Reef Foxes. Claudis the nocturnal dragon also calls The Basin a temporary home.
